In 1998 my dad, Peter Welker started his own trustee in bankruptcy business. When he started out it was just him and my mom in a small office on King Street in Waterloo. Before starting his practice my dad had worked for a couple of national insolvency firms and he wanted to do business differently. He wanted to take a more personal and compassionate approach to helping people deal with their financial difficulty. His focus was to help people to get a fresh start and he wanted to make sure that every person that dealt with our office had a clear understanding of the process.

In 2001 I started working with my dad in the family business. It was great to have the opportunity to work with and learn from my dad. In 2006, after I became a licensed trustee in bankruptcy my dad and I founded Welker & Associates Inc. Even though Welker & Associates Inc. has grown to include some non-family members, as well as offices in Waterloo, Stratford, and London we are still committed to the same family values and quality of service that made my dad's business so successful.
