The Project was founded in 2010 as The JB Project, which featured Brad Turner on Drums, vocals, and guitar, and Jon Brooke on Guitar, vocals and bass.

They got together and started playing covers of old songs by artists like Neil Young and Tom Petty, as well as writing their own material. After a few years they met Luke Anseeuw who joined in as a Bass player, vocalist, and guitarist, forming a trio which was now called The Project. They started practicing more original tunes, and mixing it up with there own versions of covers by artists like Neil Young, Nirvana, Tom Petty, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath and more.

A few years later they introduced their good friend Colin Hay to play the Drums as a full member of the band, making the current line up. As of 2017 The Project has currently been focusing on writing and practicing more original material as well as some recording.
